Clinical Nurse Consultant/Specialist

The Clinical Nurse Specialist, Grade 2, plays a pivotal role in delivering specialized nursing care and leading the development of clinical practice and service delivery. Operating within the framework of professional standards and ethics, this role ensures the delivery of professional, competent care that meets public expectations. Key responsibilities include providing complex specialist clinical nursing services, maintaining accurate health care documentation, and developing care management plans to achieve positive health outcomes. Additionally, the role involves providing clinical leadership, mentoring other healthcare professionals, contributing to the development of clinical processes and policies, and actively participating in quality improvement activities. Effective communication and collaboration with patients, carers, colleagues, and other health professionals are essential, as is a demonstrated commitment to the organization's vision, goals, and values.

About You

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with relevant post-registration qualifications and a minimum of 3 years' experience in the specified post-graduate clinical area, or equivalent qualifications/experience approved by the organization.
  • Proven ability in effective communication (verbal, written, and interpersonal) and information technology skills, enabling the provision of complex specialty services and the influence of innovative nursing practices.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams, showcasing advanced clinical skills, complex care provision, and clinical leadership in the specialty area.
