CLINICAL NURSE CONSULTANT

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Summary of the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Consultant to join our team providing palliative care in the community. This role will lead care of patients as part of a multidisciplinary team.

As a clinical leader you will:

  • Permanent Part time 0.9 EFT
  • Be a clinical expert and resource, ensuring the delivery of best practice and evidence based care to our patient.
  • Lead our Multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of care with compassion to people living with a terminal condition and dying as well as supporting carers.
  • Provide clinical leadership and be a professional role model while practising within the core values of Mercy Health.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the underpinnings of palliative care and a commitment to the delivery of timely and appropriate holistic care.

ABOUT US:

  • Current and Unrestricted AHPRA registration.
  • Minimum of 5 years previous experience in palliative care with a comprehensive understanding of the concepts of palliative care.
  • Excelling communications skills with the ability to communicate with a diverse multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
  • Current drivers licence.
  • Post graduate qualifications in palliative care or working towards required.

Mercy Palliative Care is a community palliative care service operating in the Western region of Melbourne and provides a holistic multidisciplinary approach to palliative care. We provide psychological and spiritual support, caring for people of all ages with life-limiting illnesses in their homes as well as complex symptom management. We currently care for over 500 patients across the region in their own homes.
