About the Opportunity
Bowral Hospital is seeking driven, dedicated and passionate Registered Nurses to join our fast paced Emergency Department.

As a nurse in our Emergency Department you will exposed to a complex variety of patients, illnesses and injuries which provides a stimulating and high energy environment. You will have the opportunity to be a part of the patient journey from the initial workup stage and gain valuable experience in diagnosis. This high energy environment means no two minutes are the same, it is a highly active role and you will be continually challenged to improve your own skills and the patient care provided.

As a small facility the opportunities for development are endless. You have regular access to CNE’s, CNC’s and experienced nursing staff who will guide your development in the ED space.

This role is suited to someone who is looking to develop their current knowledge in the ED field and build a career. You will have a solid nursing foundation that can be built upon and you will be forward thinking, enthusiastic and engage in high level Emergency practices.

The Registered Nurse will provide safe, compassionate, quality, person centred care and work in collaboration with patients/families/carers and a multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and outcomes.

Bowral & District Hospital is a level 3 acute bed facility which provides a wide range of services including 24 hour Emergency Department, 2 x Operating Theatres plus a Procedures room, Day Surgery, Endoscopy, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Critical and Coronary Care, Maternity & Paediatrics.


How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Demonstrated recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an environment appropriate to the relevant speciality.
  3. Demonstrated ability to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive.
  4. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs.
  5. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise.
  6. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of evidenced based nursing care.
  7. Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
