The McGrath Model of Care defines and guides the delivery of breast care nursing across the continuum of care for all people with breast cancer, early or metastatic. From diagnosis to treatment, rehabilitation, follow-up and transition to wellness or palliative care.

The role provides comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of complex patient care to achieve best practice quality care.

About the role:

  • Provide specialised breast care, information, education, and support to clients relating to breast cancer in accordance with evidence based clinical practice guidelines and the McGrath Model of Care.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and deliver advanced nursing care to people diagnosed with breast cancer.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and theory and participate directly and indirectly in the delivery of clinical care.
  • Demonstrate advanced clinical and problem-solving skills, and expert planning and coordination skills in clinical management in the specific clinical environment.

About you:

  • Mandatory qualification/s: Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate are mandatory for this position. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
  • Additional mandatory qualifications/requirements: Post Graduate qualification specifically focusing on Breast Cancer from a recognised learning facility or currently working towards completing a qualification in Breast Care Nursing. Practical experience in a breast cancer role with a minimum of 5 years post graduate nursing experience. Oncology Nursing Qualification/Experience desirable.
  • Experience in the provision of a safe and quality focused environment by ensuring safe work practices, reviewing clinical outcomes, developing a quality improvement plan, and applying the risk management framework.
  • Has well developed ability to identify opportunities for improvement and a demonstrated commitment to continuous quality improvement.
  • Well-developed clinical knowledge and advanced problem-solving skills in a high-quality client-orientated health service delivery model.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $164,212 p.a. is comprised of:

  • A hourly rate between $66.85-$72.58 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
