Purpose of Position
Wilcannia is a small remote town located on the Darling River in Outback NSW, approximately 800km from Sydney & 200 km from Broken Hill with a diverse population of approximately 600.
Wilcannia Multi Purpose Health Centre provides integrated services including community nursing, 24 hour emergency care, ambulance, inpatient and residential care services in collaboration with partners-Maari Ma & RFDS.
The successful Registered Nurse will be required to contribute and support the overall multidisciplinary and integrated approach to the remote health team’s endeavour to treat illness, promote well-being, maintain health systems, provide education and training and encourage community health action.
Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and demonstrated knowledge of legislative policy and requirements that govern registered nursing practice.
Demonstrated ability to adhere to the defined standards of ethical and professional conduct consistent with the current NSW Health Code of Conduct and/or relevant professional standards where applicable.
Demonstrated ability to accept accountability and responsibility for own actions within Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) Standards of Practice for a Registered Nurse.
Recent remote clinical experience or demonstrate a commitment to work as a Registered Nurse in the Remote setting.
Demonstrate a willingness and capacity to work within a multicultural environment and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
Well developed skills in communication-written/verbal, conflict resolution, negotiation and problem solving.
Demonstrate a knowledge and commitment to Quality improvement.
Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills.
