Purpose of Position
The Nurse Manager Operations is responsible for the operational management and service delivery of the Inpatient Rehabilitation and Palliative Care Service of Calvary Health Care Kogarah (CHCK) incorporating the Community Palliative Care Service (CPCT). The position is also responsible for the development, implementation and ongoing management of a single point of access/patient flow unit for the services this role manages to ensure patients admitted within required timeframes using criteria for admission.This role will monitor and support the management of quality, safe, efficient and effective patient flow processes for admitted and CPCT patients in conjunction with the NUMs multidisciplinary team.As the Deputy Director of Nursing, the Nurse Manager will be professionally responsible for all nursing staff across CHCK in the absence of the Director of Nursing.The position will provide leadership for the clinical service and promote excellence in patient care. The role will focus on collaboration with service NUMs in the key areas of clinical, financial, patient flow and human resource management. Strategic management will be undertaken in consultation with the Director Clinical Services.As a member of the management team it is a core responsibility of this position to ensure that the CHCK values of Hospitality, Healing, Stewardship and Respect are incorporated into all aspects of the role and imbedded in work practices. The position holder will provide an example to all staff by their adherence to these values and by actively promoting these values throughout the organisation.

Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with relevant tertiary qualifications
Demonstrated understanding of operational factors which influence patient access and improve the patient journey
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage work teams and capitalise on team diversity and strengths to deliver results
Demonstrated ability to read and act on issues quickly, decisively and effectively to enhance service delivery or manage situations impacting on achievement of service delivery outcome
Demonstrated experience in financial management and the ability to develop financial strategies and achieve goals
Sound knowledge of current clinical nursing practice in the healthcare system
Demonstrated extensive clinical and operational management experience at a senior level within a sub-acute health care environment
Ability to work within the Mission and Values of Calvary Health Care Kogarah
