The Canterbury District Health Board systematically plan, fund and deliver care to over 600,000 people that live in the Canterbury region. Canterbury DHB is home to our new Waipapa building with a footprint of 10,450m2, this is the South Island’s largest tertiary hospital. Our services also encompass several other sites including Christchurch Women’s, Hillmorton, The Princess Margaret, Ashburton and Burwood Hospitals.

The Role: Where you fit in

We are seeking House Officers who have completed their first post graduate year to start with us in January or July 2022 as part of our Annual Recruitment intake.

Skills and experience:

  • You will have completed your first post graduate year
  • You must be eligible for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. You can check your eligibility by visiting the Council’s website at
  • We do not currently have any PGY1 accredited positions available
