Period of employment / Hours:

Fixed term full-time day work (part-time hours may be considered by negotiation) commencing ASAP until 30 June 2022.

Duties:

Primary Purpose / Focus :

The Communities Tasmania SFCU Analyst contributes to the goals and outcomes of the SFCU. Working in the SFCU requires resilience, excellent communication and decision-making skills, and an ability to engage with partner agencies and to work collaboratively within a sometimes complex and pressurised environment.
Working as an effective member of the SFCU, the Analyst will be required to identify information, through liaison, dialogue and searching of relevant databases and business units, which may add to a cumulative assessment of risk and harm to victims of family violence, children affected by family violence and to perpetrator risk of repeat family violence.

Selection criteria includes:

  • Demonstrated understanding of family violence and behaviours or indicators that may be suggestive of family violence from the perspective of adult and child victims and perpetrators.
  • Understanding of the Safe at Home project and the Safe Homes, Safe Families initiative and the contribution of the Safe Families Coordination Unit to these, with the capacity to demonstrate, through personal and professional example, a commitment to the collaborative work and outcomes of the SFCU, with an understanding of the political, social and organisational environment in which the SFCU operates.
  • High level analytical skills, with knowledge of, and the capacity to interrogate, agency databases and identify relevant issues and information pertinent to family violence.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Postgraduate experience working in a related field (Child Protection, Family Violence etc.)

Essential Requirements:

  • Satisfactory completion of an appropriate course of study at a recognised tertiary institution.
  • Current Tasmanian Working with Children (Vulnerable People) Registration (Employment type)

  • 1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
    • a) crimes of violence
    • b) sex related offences
    • c) serious drug offences
    • d) crimes involving dishonesty
    • e) serious traffic offences(If Driver's License is an Essential Requirement)
  • 2. Identification check
  • 3. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
