Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experiencedDietitian(Grade 2)to join our Nutrition and Dietetics team, to fillavacancyresultingfrom internal staff movement.

About the position

This position is suited to adietitian withat leastafew years’experiencewho can operate at Grade 2 level.The positionpurpose is to provideclinicalbackfillwhen stafftakeleave.

The person will be expected to workinall clinical areas(withtraining provided as needed), across all sites, although most of the work is usually at the Austin acute site due to the size of our team there (24 dietitians).Our clinical streamsare:specialist medicine, surgical/gastro/ICU, oncology, paediatrics and mental health, sub-acute careand rehab,andhome-based services.

The person will work under the direction of the Grade 4 operations lead, andon a daily basisunder the direction of an allocated team leader. They will participate in clinical supervision, department meetings and in department-wideactivities as directed.Weekend work may be included.

About the Nutrition and Dietetics Department

We have 35dietitians working across all three sites of Austin Health, in acute care, sub-acute care,rehabilitationand community programs. We function as one department and work in clinical teams in a supportive, friendly environment.Our work includesclinical services, research, qualityimprovement,food service liaison, staff and student education.


Candidates must be qualified to practice as a Dietitian in Australia, as recognised by the Dietitians Association of Australia, and meet the requirements of theAPDprogram.
