The Department of Health (DoH), are seeking Dentists and Oral Health/Dental Therapists to work within the Oral Health Services Tasmania team at your preferred location across the state.

Multiple full time and part time positions available for immediate start.

What roles are available

Dentist

Provide clinical dental services and associated administrative functions in line with Oral Health Service Tasmania’s strategies, policies and programs. This involves the provision of dental services (at general dental practitioner level) to concession card holders and children in accordance with current treatment guidelines and management policies.

Salary

$116,601-$183,317 per annum + 10% superannuation + access to salary packaging

This salary range is in accordance with the Dental Officers Industrial Agreement 2019

Oral Health/Dental Therapist

Provide dental care for eligible clients of the Children’s Dental Service of Oral Health Services Tasmania in accordance with the scope of practice outlined by the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (Dental Board of Australia) as prescribed by a Dental Officer.

Salary

$64,072 - $98,027 per annum + 10% superannuation + access to salary packaging

This salary range is in accordance with the Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2019

Essential requirements for both roles

  • Registered with the Dental Board of Australia
  • Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

  • Conviction checks in the following areas:
    • crimes of violence
    • sex related offences
    • serious drug offences
    • crimes involving dishonesty
  • Identification check
  • Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
