About Us

Jessie McPherson Private Hospital Maternity Unit (51 North) is currently a 19 bed antenatal/postnatal unit with a 6 bed SCN. Situated on the same site as Monash Health and Monash Children’s, we are able to provide outstanding patient and family centred care in a tertiary facility.

Postnatal care has expanded to include a Satellite Maternity Unit. This unit will need to be staffed by experienced midwives who are capable of working autonomously and safely outside the hospital environment. Skills in Adult resuscitation, Neonatal Resuscitation and extensive experience in lactation support and postnatal care and education are a must. Staff will be rotated between 51 North (Hospital Maternity Ward) and the Satellite Maternity Unit.

What you Need:

  • Experience and passion about providing exceptional care to women and their families during Pregnancy and Postnatal care
  • Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Authority (AHPRA)
  • Fully COVID-19 vaccinated
  • Embrace best practice models of care
  • Be highly accountable and demonstrate a strong supportive and engaging style
  • Be passionate about achieving high quality clinical outcomes
  • Enjoy working in a diverse and ever changing environment
  • Be highly motivated to learn and willing to undertake continuing education
  • You are willing to work full or part time across a seven day rotating roster including night shifts
