We have 2 full-time permanent positions for a General Practitioner available at Vincentia Medical Centre. We are two and a half hours south of Sydney, two hours east of Canberra on the beautiful white sandy beaches of Jervis Bay. Our practice is modern and bright and is well equipped with the latest medical equipment and technology.
We are a DPA, MMM4 location and are eligible for MDRAP/PEP/RVTS/RGTS/ACRRM/RACGP. We are affiliated with the University of Wollongong Medical School.
There are 7 other GPs in the practice and a wonderful team of, nurses, reception staff, and allied health personnel who will support you and complement your practice. Our practice has grown steadily over the last 20 years and we are ready to expand again. Our practice has remained strong and viable through this past turbulent year, our patient numbers have not been affected by COVID, we have adapted and the practice has thrived.
You will be taking over a large, loyal patient following the interstate move of a husband/wife couple who have been with us for seven years. You will be busy immediately with great income potential.
Our new GP will be fully registered, if not a fellow then committed to studying for their fellowship exams. We have a thorough induction process and training and mentoring are provided.
The doctor will be required to assess, plan, treat and evaluate all categories of patients from the neonate to the elderly using research-based medicine. Clinical situations that can be anticipated encompass the broadest clinical contingencies including pediatrics, gastroenterology, care of the elderly, gynecology, dermatology, antenatal care, emergency medicine, cardiovascular and respiratory medicine, mental health, and ophthalmology.
Obstetric care is not necessary though most GPs in the practice see mothers for antenatal and postnatal care. Some clinical knowledge in Obstetrics is desirable and can be built upon during a career in general practice.
Some knowledge of Mental Health is preferred as mental health forms a significant role in any GP practice nowadays. Again training and mentoring is provided with access to our 5 credentialed mental health nurses for support and a team of psychiatrists with who we work closely.
You will be well supported in your role with the assistance of treatment room nurses and chronic disease management nurses, credentialed Mental Health Nurses, a diabetic educator, dietician, social worker, Pharmacist, and Podiatrist.
We also offer skin cancer checks and skin cancer surgery and our specialist GPs will be happy to mentor you to learn new skills.
