Social Worker

Provide a safe and efficient medication dispensing service to inpatients and outpatients of the Department.

Applicants are advised that in accordance with Tasmanian Public Health Directions, all employees of the Department of Health must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. This step is critical in protecting both our health workforce and vulnerable Tasmanians in our care.

The Role:

  • Provide a safe and efficient medication dispensing service to inpatients and outpatients of the Department.
  • Provide supervision and leadership to Pharmacy staff and oversee the work of team members.
  • Coordinate dispensing and medication supply practices and ensure practices comply with legal requirements, professional ethics, and Departmental and hospital policies.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term, full time, day work (with on call),position working 76hours per fortnightcommencing from October 2022 until June 2023

Salary:$96,689 - $107,629per annum + 10% superannuation+ access to salary packaging

  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $105,245 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
  • Salary range is in accordance with the Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement2019

  1. Registered with the Pharmacy Board of Australia

  1. Current Driver’s Licence

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

    • serious drug offences
    • crimes involving dishonesty
