The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) provides care to more than 400,000 people living in the northern metropolitan area of Adelaide as well as providing a number of state-wide services, and services to those in regional areas. NALHN offers a range of primary health care services across the northern metropolitan area of Adelaide, with a focus on providing preventive and health promoting programs in the community, and transition and hospital substitution and avoidance programs targeted at chronic disease and frail aged.With a workforce of almost 6,000 employees, NALHN works to ensure quality and timely delivery of health care, whilst building a highly skilled, engaged and resilient workforce based on a culture of collaboration, respect, integrity and accountability.

In this key role as an Occupational Therapist you will be accountable to the Advanced Nurse Unit Manager of the Northern Adelaide Rehabilitation Service for the provision, assessment and treatment services for patients of NALHN which aim to optimise health outcomes. This role will be based in the Rehabilitation In The Home (RITH) Service however may be required to rotate through a series of clinical services .

The Occupational Therapist applies clinical experience, increasing clinical knowledge and professional competence to plan, implement and evaluate comprehensive and integrated services to the needs of clients of NALHN. The Occupational Therapist works under limited direct clinical supervision and may provide direction and support to less experience therapists, allied health assistants and students.

In this role you will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team and liaise directly with medical, nursing staff of NALHN and with other community agencies.

To be eligible for this position you must hold an appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.

COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement under the Emergency Management (COVID-19) (Healthcare Setting Workers Vaccination) Directions 2022 No 7 to work in SA Health/health care setting.
