Overview

The Enrolled Nurse supports the Registered Nurse/Midwife in the provision of person-centred care consistent with regulatory and statutory requirements. Practice at this level is from novice to proficient Enrolled Nurse practice. Employees at this level work under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse/Midwife, however at all times the Enrolled Nurse retains responsibility for his/her actions and remains accountable in providing nursing/midwifery care.

Working on a casual basis, you will provide high quality nursing care within the Ceduna District Health Service to improve patient health outcomes. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse/Midwife, you will implement appropriate nursing care and assist with general and specialised procedures from nursing care plans. Maintaining cooperative and productive working relationships with all members of the health care team, you will provide verbal and documented information within your scope of practice to patients, other health care team members, and members of the public, and contribute to your professional expertise by maintaining ongoing personal professional development and continuing education through a portfolio of post-enrolment learning. The redeveloped Ceduna District Health Services are part of the Eyre and Far North Local Health Network region, and includes the Ceduna Hospital and the GP Plus Health Care Centre, Ceduna. Combining acute hospital and primary health care services in the one facility means the community can receive the most appropriate method of care, quickly and easily.
Must be enrolled or eligible for enrolment as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
