We are accepting international applicants and recruiting to Townsville Hospital and Health Service, Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service and Mackay Hospital and Health Service. Successful applicants will be offered a position in one of three locations. Permanent full-time positions available, supporting multiple clinical areas throughout the hospital and health service locations.

National Applicants
We are accepting applicants from Australia and New Zealand for Townsville Hospital and Health Service only. Permanent full-time and part-time positions are available, supporting multiple clinical areas throughout the Townsville Hospital and Health Service.

Eligible Registered Nurses/Registered Midwives who move to Queensland from interstate and international jurisdictions to take up permanent employment may receive up to $20,000 in incentive payments under the
Queensland Health Workforce Attraction Incentive Scheme

The role 
Registered Nurses and Registered Midwifes (RN/RMs) provide safe and compassionate clinical care to patients. RN/RMs are a key part of the health care team, providing person-centred care to patients, families and carers through effective assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.

Nursing and Midwifery Workforce Services offer a range of positions and negotiable hours in the Nursing Midwifery Staffing Team (NMST).  RN/RMs in NMST will be rostered and allocated to a variety of acute and non-acute clinical areas with opportunities in adults, paediatrics, mental health and other specialty areas including community and rural.

Permanent full-time and part-time positions available.

Generous remuneration package (based on full-time equivalent value) up to $117926 p.a. comprising:

  • Salary range of $3079.50 - $3950.00 p.f. or $40.51 - $51.97 p.h. (Nurse Grade 5)
  • 5/6 weeks annual leave + 17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Additional leave entitlements including sick leave, carer's leave, long service leave
  • Professional development leave + allowance
