An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Social Worker to join the Starship Community Team! Are you:

Te whiwhinga mahi| The Opportunity

Starship Community is an interdisciplinary team of professionals providing nursing, allied health, technical and cultural support to children, young people and their families living within the Auckland DHB area. We are looking for an experienced, motivated and dynamic social worker with a passion for working with children, their families and whanau.


Your focus will be providing social work support to children and their families and whanau who have high health and social needs in the community.

This position offers an ideal opportunity for you to develop or extend your social work expertise, as part of an interdisciplinary team. You will benefit from regular formal supervision, peer review, collegial support and active participation in education and in-service programs.

Thisis a fixed-term full-time position working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday based out of Greenlane Clinical Centre. As the role is a community role, a full and clean NZ driver's license is also required.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

The successful applicant will:

·Be a qualified registered Social Worker and will have a NZ registration with SWRB

·Have a current annual practicing certificate (APC)

·Current New Zealand driving licence

·Previous experience working in a health setting and in child protection would be an advantage

·Experience working with Maori and Pacific communities is desired

·Ability to work autonomously in a multi-cultural environment is essential

·Ability to use a personal computer with standard software applications for basic operations such as file management, word processing, email, and diary management
