About the role:

As the Leave Cover Social Worker, you will be responsible for covering short - periods of leave and providing social work practice to referred patients across the general acute and subacute areas. This will see you working in a range of clinical and specialty areas with different teams and patient cohorts.A regular day will see you undertake a range of valuable clinical social work interventions that support patient care and outcomes in collaboration with the multidiscplinary team. You will have opportunities to clinically supervise and guide the practice of social workers employed within the social work department. You will receive professional training, learning support and supervision to support your growth and career development.Key responsibilities:

  • Apply your social work skills and knowledge to assess, support and plan the discharge of patients
  • Provide counselling services to patients and families
  • Supervise social work staff
  • Undertake quality improvement work / activities

You must have:

A degree in Social Work and be eligible for AASW

Ideally you'll have:

previously worked in a hospital setting
