Assistant Chief Radiographer / PACS Administrator - to run until November 2024 with the possibility of extension.

Radiographer Level 5.1 - Full time -Temporary position (1.0 FTE vacancy)

A Vacancy exists at the Prince of Wales Hospital Medical Imaging department for 1.0 FTE temporary Radiographer Level 5 Grade 1 (full time.)

The Prince of Wales Hospital Medical Imaging Department is located on the Randwick Campus and provides services to POWH, Sydney Children’s Hospital and the Royal Hospital for Women.

The key roles of the position include managing imaging operations in a multidisciplinary environment, managing district wide PACS and performing clinical duties.

The successful applicant is expected to.

  • Manage the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District RIS PACS at District and hospital level,
  • Supervision of clinical operations on the behalf of Chief Radiographer and Deputy Chief Radiographer in conjunction with other craft group managers of the Prince of Wales Hospital.
  • Organise and direct day to day clinical activities of the department to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes for patients of the service,
  • Oversee the operation and function of SESLHD RIS-PACS systems and verify that appropriate processes have occurred.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain RIS-PACS policy and procedures to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of the clinical service.

  1. Current registration with AHPRA and possession of NSW EPA I14A radiation user licence.
  2. Demonstrated excellent time management skills, ability to prioritise and plan your time between competing demands and delivering results within tight timeframes.
  3. Demonstrated ability to assist the Chief Radiographer to manage work practice change with respect to RIS/PACS solutions.
  4. Demonstrated advanced knowledge and experience in both local and district wide RIS-PACS administration and management.
  5. Demonstrated ability to supervise radiographic staff and resource allocation to ensure efficient and effective clinical service delivery and compliance with Department policies and procedures.
  6. Able to use RIS/PACS system and related functions to optimise imaging service delivery and maximise revenue opportunities.
  7. Able to perform general x-ray and Computer Tomography duty as requested by the Chief Radiographer.
  8. Willing to achieve at high level managerial and project management leadership role.
