Our Paediatric Outpatient Service has a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and innovative Charge Nurse in a full-time permanent capacity. This role will involve working autonomously and as part of a supportive senior nursing team committed to effective/ evidenced based nursing practise. Excellent supervisory, communication and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to work within a multicultural environment.

In this role, you will

  • Provide outstanding clinical and professional leadership for nursing staff on the unit ensuring that excellence in nursing care delivery is maintained
  • Provide expert clinical support and oversight to nursing staff, enhancing the existing skills of staff on the unit
  • Be responsible for the operational management of the unit
  • Ensuring a high standard of Nursing Care delivery that meet the needs of tamariki and their whānau
  • Lead effective teamwork and work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team
  • Support staff wellbeing and a positive working environment

We are looking to recruit an exceptional, forward thinking nurse leader who is flexible, resilient and can manage a busy workload. As an ideal candidate, you will have a Post Graduate degree and at least 5 years’ experience as a registered nurse.

To be successful in this role you will

  • bring a well-grounded clinical background
  • have a minimum of 5 years paediatric experience
  • have obtained the appropriate post-graduate qualification
  • have a strong commitment to leading professional development, quality care and whānau centred nursing
