Mercy Health is seeking interests from passionate clinical leaders to apply for the Clinical Care Manager role at Mercy Place Montrose, our residential aged care home located in the foothills of the Dandenong ranges. The Clinical Care Manager, in consultation with the Service Manager and clinical team, provides clinical leadership in all aspects of the operations of the facility. They work collaboratively with clinicians, carers, residents, families, support staff and relevant community agencies to facilitate an effective resident focused service.

In this role, Clinical Care Manager will:

  • Practice as per the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) policy and guidelines regarding nursing scope of practice.
  • Provide supervision to staff in the provision of quality care to residents by ensuring the delivery of skilled, individualised care to the highest possible professional standard in the context of small household living.
  • Act as a role model, work well in a multidisciplinary team, provide resident focused care, complete day to day tasks and report any issues to the General Manager.
  • Assist staff in undertaking assessments, treatment, documentation and activities. 
  • Ensure a smooth and effective operation of clinical care so that services meet the care requirements of residents and meets required standards.
  • Provide support to households as they relate to clinical leadership in the delivery of care, administration, monitoring of the clinical systems for providing assurance that care is delivered to standards, documented and within role delineations.
  • Provide coverage for General Manager during periods of leave.
  • Take reasonable care and appropriate actions to protect the health and safety of themselves, fellow staff and others in the workplace and ensure the values of Mercy Health and the philosophy of Small Household Living are incorporated into daily practices.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as Registered Nurse 
  • Five years’ experience in the provision of quality aged care in a senior clinical role. Proven management skills, demonstrated team leadership, strong working knowledge of continuous improvement and familiarity with Personal Care and Resident Lifestyle requirements in the Aged Care Quality Standards. 
  • Excellent clinical skills and has significant Aged Care experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities.
  • Strong working knowledge of legislation and policies pertinent to Aged Care and the workplace.
  • Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Computer Literacy 
  • Multidisciplinary approach to clinical practice
  • Commitment to the Small Household Living philosophy
