We currently have a permanent opportunity for a Midwife to work with our wonderful, values- driven Fetal Medicine team. In this role you can make a real difference in the health and wellbeing of our local Auckland and national New Zealand communities.

Our National Women's Hospital at Auckland is the largest maternity hospital in Australasia, with approximately 6,500 babies born each year; we are a tertiary referral centre whilst also providing primary maternity care to women in the central Auckland area.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

As a Fetal Medicine Midwife, you will work closely with the other members of the Maternal & Fetal Medicine Team, including other Midwife Specialists, MFM Specialists & Obstetric Physicians. You will also be part of a wider multidisciplinary team coordinating care for women & babies that includes Neonatologists, Paediatric Cardiology teams, other Paediatric Subspecialists, Social Work and Paediatric Palliative Care.

Some of your duties would include:

· Providing on-going midwifery care and support

· Co-ordination of care for tertiary level women

· Providing care and support to those women and their whanau experiencing a pregnancy with a fetal anomaly and/or loss.

· Providing advice to local and nationwide colleagues with regard to high risk pregnancies

Previous Maternal/Fetal Medicine experience is an advantage but not essential.
