Te whiwhinga mahi| The Opportunity

As a natural leader, passionate about sharing knowledge and putting patients at the centre of everything you do, you’ll be in your element here with us. You can look forward to joining New Zealand’s leading paediatrics specialists and research nurses - providing clinical pharmacy expertise to complex child health patients, while also being involved in ground-breaking clinical trials.

It’s an innovative, professionally stimulating work environment where you’ll enjoy a real breadth and balance - from clinically screening chemotherapy prescriptions to ensuring the appropriate, safe and cost effective delivery of chemotherapy to patients. We’re sure you’ll also relish the chance to get involved in the development of protocols, prescriptions and guidelines, and education and training of pharmacists and the wider multidisciplinary team in order to facilitate good prescribing practice.

The opportunity for professional development here is impressive to say the least. Not only will you mentor and coach clinical pharmacists in the service, you’ll also support teaching at the University of Auckland. What’s more, you will have the opportunity to actively contribute to the wider Cancer and Blood service strategy implementation.

An enthusiastic clinical pharmacist, committed to furthering yourself and your peers with the ability to role model the Te Toka Tumai values, you’ll come to us with a post-graduate qualification in clinical pharmacy, at least five years clinical experience, and evidence of extensive clinical pharmacy practice in paediatrics. You’ll be either registered or be eligible for registration with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand and hold a current Annual Practising Certificate.
