What's on offer?
Remuneration package of up to $522,648 p.a. comprising salary range of $204,206 - $258,910 p.a., (L18-L27), recreational leave loading (17.5%), and employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%). attraction and retention incentive allowance (50% base salary), regional and rural attraction allowance (5% base salary), motor vehicle allowance between $21,000 and $25,000 p.a., professional development allowance of $21,500 p.a. + 3.6 weeks p.a. leave, private practice arrangements, communications package, professional indemnity cover and inaccessibility allowance (if applicable).

About the role
The role of the Dermatology Staff Specialist is to provide high quality clinical services to benefit the patients / clients of the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS). This includes research as well as teaching the health professionals of the future, including dermatology trainees, junior doctors and medical students.

The role will provide specialist dermatology care to the ongoing delivery and further enhancement of an inpatient and outpatient dermatology service to the patients of the THHS. A key part of the role will be to provide teaching and supervision to accredited registrars of The Australasian College of Dermatologists, and junior doctors who aspire to become dermatologists.

Townsville University Hospital is the tertiary teaching hospital for North Queensland and has a patient case mix commensurate with that level of care provision. This includes patients from the local area and from the surrounding regions. This position will interact with a full range of medical and surgical specialties.

Role requirements

  • You will hold specialist registration (or be eligible to hold) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a dermatologist.
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent.
