What you'll be doing:
An excellent opportunity is now available to join the team of amazing Midwives in the Postnatal Ward working in a Permanent Full time or Part time position. These roles are located in our brand new state of the art building at Nepean hospital.
Your role as the Registered Midwife will work
collaboratively to provide safe, compassionate, person-centred health care in collaboration with patients, families, carers and multidisciplinary teams.
This imperative role will see you assess, plan, prioritise, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team to meet defined patient/client care objectives within agreed timeframes. At all times you will maintain confidentiality on all issues relating to patients/clients, colleagues and NBMLHD and respond effectively to emergency situations, the changing status of patients/clients, clinical concerns, adverse events, critical incidents and complaints.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
Selection criteria to be addressed:
- Current registration as a Registered Midwife Division 1 with AHPRA.
- Demonstrated experience and clinical skill in Midwifery.
- Demonstrated capacity to provide effective nursing/midwifery care that is person centred, family inclusive and culturally sensitive to people accessing health services.
- Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work.
- Demonstrated effective communications written and verbal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to work a flexible roster, day evening or night shift across all days of the week according to the unit or team requirements.
