Qualifications:Degree or equivalent in Speech Pathology, eligible for practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia
Selection Criteria
- Degree or equivalent in Speech Pathology, eligible for practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia and a current Driver's License.
- Extensive experience independently managing adult inpatients and outpatients in acute and subacute settings, including experience in instrumental assessment of swallowing including Modified Barium Swallow and a clinical appreciation of Fibreoptic Endoscopic Swallowing Assessment.
- Demonstrated experience managing swallowing and communication impairments for an oncology caseload, with strongly developing skills in head and neck radiation oncology for inpatients and outpatients. Familiarisation with laryngectomy is preferred but not essential.
- Demonstrated experience managing communication and swallowing disorders during supportive and end of life care.
- Demonstrated understanding of service coordination, evaluation, planning and development of local service delivery using quality improvement process and evidence based practice.
- Evidence of excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills including advanced conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strongly developed time management and organisational skills
