We are looking for aNZ RegisteredPhysiotherapistto work in ourCVICU teamas part of ourPhysiotherapy Critical Care team. This is an exciting and unique role for New Zealand to work in the national centre for heart and lung transplantation. CVICU also provides regional care for pre and post-operative patients undergoing cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures.

This role is based atAuckland City Hospitaland is afixed termfull-time until end of July 2024.

This role will also see you performing the below duties:

  • Manage a clinical caseload in CVICU
  • Provide comprehensive service to our cardiothoracic patients
  • Play an active role in quality improvement, staff and service development
  • Work collaboratively with a range of professional groups in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Participate in our weekend and on-call roster

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

As the ideal person for this role you will have the following skills and attributes:

  • New Zealand registration as a Physiotherapist with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Clinical experience in acute care preferably respiratory, cardiac or surgical settings.
  • A flexible, pro-active and can-do approach with experience supporting staff and students
  • Excellent clinical reasoning skills and use of evidence informed practice
  • Evidence of establishing and developing working relationships within the wider MDT
  • Effective time management, prioritisation and organisation skills
  • Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how to provide culturally safe care
