We have a part-time (0.8 FTE) fixed term (parental leave cover) position available for a highly motivated Paediatric Nurse.

The Nurse Specialist is responsible for providing specialist nursing care and/or coordination of care to paediatric cardiac patients and their families across health care settings. Our Nurse specialists are part of a dynamic and passionate multi-disciplinary team who are committed to the delivery of effective/evidenced based cardiac care.

The Paediatric and Congenital Cardiac Service is the sole provider of cardiology and cardiac surgical services for infants and children with congenital and acquired heart disease in New Zealand and parts of the Pacific Basin. We provide cardiac care across the life spectrum with a fetal cardiology service through to care of those born with congenital heart diseases who are now adults.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

To be successful you will:

  • Be an experienced Paediatric Cardiology registered nurse and will either have or be eligible for registration with NZ Nursing Council.
  • Have proficient or expert level Professional Development Recognition Programme (PDRP) portfolio or equivalent
  • Preferably have a Master’s degree or a post -graduate diploma
  • Have experience in a leadership role with a strong commitment to quality healthcare
  • Have excellent communication and problem solving skills with the ability to work in a bi-cultural environment.
