A Northern NSW hospital requires a Registrar/PHO in Internal Medicine from 20/05/2024 to 31/05/2024.
SHIFTS:
Working with RMO – Mon- Fri 0800-1630 (8hrs)
Mon 20 May to Fri 31 May 2024
• Meeting the team (one resident medical officer) at 8am on ward E10.
• Ward round on current Gastroenterology inpatients.
• Gastroenterology consults (including referrals from other inpatient teams, phone calls from GPs and peripheral sites).
• Accepting and reviewing ED referrals.
• Discussion and review of patients with the consultant.
• Organisation of emergency scopes with Endoscopy (discussion with the on call consultant and Endoscopy nursing unit manager to book them in, emailing them to confirm, then notifying the scoping gastroenterologist and anaesthetist on the day).
• Coordination of the ERCP list every fortnight.
• Gastroenterology Clinic once a week from 9:30am - 11:30am on Wednesdays or Thursdays.
• Handover meeting on Fridays at 7:30am where all inpatients and consults are discussed and handed over to the next on call Gastroenterologist (all the consulants attend and you are expected to make a document summarising each patient's case which is sent out the evening prior).
