GP/Consultant/Specialist

The Position

An exciting Permanent Full-Time opportunity in Tasmania for a Staff Specialist - ENT.


Under direction of the Director of Surgery for the provision of specialist medical services to the public and private patients at this northern Tasmanian hospital.


You will be:


• Responsible for junior medical staff and medical students attached to the Unit.


• Required to operate independently acting with clinical privileges, as defined.


• Work closely and liaises with professional colleagues and the Director of Surgery

It features a well-equipped emergency department, operating theatres, inpatient wards, outpatient clinics, diagnostic services (such as radiology and pathology), and specialist units. Known for its expertise in several medical specialties, including cardiology, orthopedics, general surgery, oncology, and neurology, among others. It also serves as a referral center for complex cases from smaller hospitals in the region.

Essential Criteria

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:



  • Holds specialist registration or Is a registered Medical Practitioner who is an International Medical Graduate (IMG) who is on specialist pathway or Is a registered Medical Practitioner who is an International Medical Graduate (IMG) who has a recognised overseas specialist qualification and is assessed as having sufficient experience in the specialty.


The Package

  • Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1- Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 3 $210,000 - $301,349 per annum + 11% superannuation + access to salary packaging

  • Provision of a fully maintained private plated motor vehicle or motor vehicle allowance of $25,758 per annum 

  • Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $16,000 per annum

  • Access to salary packaging 

  • On call is a requirement of the role, and an allowance will be paid in addition to base salary.

  • Relocation package and accommodation allowance available 

  • May be entitled to participate in the Private Patient Scheme.
