The Order establishes mandatory requirements for health staff and persons working in health settings to be vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine. Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners for the above position (s) in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District. The position will be primarily located at Lithgow Hospital within the Department of Surgery.

The number of sessions will be negotiable with successful application. Appointees may be eligible for credentialing and privileging across all other facilities in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.

SELECTION CRITERIA

  1. Possess or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
  2. Possess Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) (Otolaryngology) and/or equivalent specialist recognition as provided for by the Health Insurance Act 1997 and Public Hospital (Visiting Medical Officers Fee for Service Contracts)
  3. Determination and Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring / audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position;
  4. Sound clinical knowledge in Otolaryngology -ENT Scope of Practice demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position including evidence of participation in quality assurance activities relevant to the specialty;
  5. High level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team;
  6. Demonstrated commitment to teaching and junior medical staff supervision consistent with contemporary best practice supervision standards;
  7. Demonstrates the skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical /Dental Practitioner including modelling of a high standard of professional behaviour to junior medical staff;
  8. Sound clinical knowledge in the subspecialty of Otolaryngology ENT demonstrated byrelevant qualifications and / or appropriate post-Fellowship clinical experience.
