Selection Criteria:

1. Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist General Surgeon and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
2. Demonstrated significant experience relevant to General Surgery and evidence of competence in skills relevant to a regional centre hospital practice, including trauma and emergency scenarios.
3. Excellent communication and liaison skills, fostering positive and productive working relationships between team members and with other disciplines.
4. Willing to commit to an equitable hospital on-call roster for General Surgery.
5. Demonstrated commitment to continuing medical education relevant to General Surgery including teaching of medical students, JMO's, Nursing Staff and other staff as required and an ongoing commitment to surgical research.
6. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to clinical quality improvement, accreditation requirements and peer review.
