About The Opportunity
Bankstown Hospital is seeking a flexible, adaptable and driven Nurse Practitioner or Transitional Nurse Practitioner to join our growing team in the Emergency Department.

We are seeking a champion of change, a person of influence, and someone who is passionate and dedicated to their profession and Emergency Department (ED). The ED team are in a period of growth and change in their service and is looking for someone who will advocate for the NP field.

This role is your chance to make true and lasting changes in ED within SWSLHD and work with a dedicated team to redesign clinical services. You will be flexible, adaptable and be ready for a challenge that will drive your career as well as the quality of patient care provided. Where You'll Be Working
Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital is located in the city of Bankstown and is in one of the most multicultural local government areas (LGA) in Australia, with residents speaking more than 120 different languages.

Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital is a principal referral group A1B hospital with tertiary affiliations to the University of New South Wales, University of Sydney and Western Sydney University providing a wide range of general medical and surgical services and sub-specialty services to the Bankstown/Canterbury community.

How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  2. Suitable applicants for nurse practitioner positions are to be clinically and professionally supported to undertake a NMBA-approved nurse practitioner master’s degree or supported to meet course entry requirements at time of employment
  3. Demonstrated ability to undertake comprehensive health assessments of patients within target populations in order to collect relevant clinical data to inform clinical and diagnostic decision making processes
  4. Demonstrated ability to articulate sound reasoning behind clinical, diagnostic and prescribing decisions that are informed by evidence based practice and made within a nursing context
  5. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs
  6. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise
  7. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical and reflective thinking, complex reasoning and analysis to guide assessments, clinical judgements and decisions whilst managing complete episodes of patient care.
  8. Demonstrated ability to perform in a clinical leadership role evidenced by participation in practice development activities including mentoring, education, active participation incommunities of practice, policy development, research and quality improvement.
