We are seeking NZ registerable Adult Special Care Dentistry Specialist to join our busy Hospital & Specialist Dentistry (HSD) team in Auckland. We have a full-time, permanent position available.

Auckland Regional Hospital & Specialist Dentistry provides hospital-based secondary and tertiary level specialist oral health services, to a population of almost 1.7 million people domiciled within the Metro Auckland region. Adult Special Care Dentistry is part of HSD providing hospital-based secondary and tertiary level hospital and specialist oral health services for adults living in the greater Auckland area. The successful applicant will be joining our existing special care dentistry specialists in a wider multidisciplinary team of dental specialists and senior dentists.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated multi-disciplinary team. The focus of the role is the provision of comprehensive treatment of adult patients with complex comorbidities in both inpatient and outpatient settings, under general anaesthesia, sedation and local anaesthesia. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the supervision, teaching and support of dental house officers. In addition to audit, there are opportunities for involvement in research. The post is based at Greenlane Clinical Centre in Epsom, Auckland; our services are delivered from a range of locations across the wider Auckland Region.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

Applicants must be eligible for registration with the Dental Council of New Zealand; and where possible, should demonstrate relevant post-graduate training and experience in Special Needs Dentistry.

You will have minimum 3 years post specialisation clinical experience and enjoy working in a team environment.

We would prefer applicants to have a specialist dentist qualification but will consider a dentist or dental specialist with a relevant adult care dentistry post-graduate qualification, who also has experience in hospital-based dentistry.
