An exciting opportunity is currently available for an experienced Physiotherapist to join the Prison Health Services Team, Wide Bay Mental Health & Specialised Services at the Maryborough Correctional Centre within the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service. The Wide Bay area is arguably one of the most beautiful regions of Queensland. The Health Service stretches from Agnes Water in the North to Maryborough in the South and provides acute care services to a population of over 225,000 residents including several rural communities.

Eligible Applicants who move to Queensland from an interstate or international jurisdiction to take up permanent or temporary greater than 12 months employment may receive up to $20,000 incentive payments under the Queensland Health Workforce Attraction Scheme

Your opportunity:

  • To deliver generalist physiotherapy clinical services within the Prison Health Service multidisciplinary team, located at the Maryborough Correctional Centre, with a focus on addressing both acute and chronic conditions, rehabilitation, group movement activities and addressing the physical needs of people with chronic pain.
  • Provide physiotherapy services that are clinically, professionally, and organisationally competent with knowledge and expertise expected to increase commensurate with the level of experience.

Permanent Full Time (76 hours p.f.) or Permanent Part Time Positions (hours negotiable).

Prior to being made an offer of employment, you will be required to demonstrate immunity to the following Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD): Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (chicken pox) and Pertussis (whooping cough).

From 9th December 2019 all new employees will be required to be assessed for their risk of Tuberculosis (TB).  For further information regarding TB please visit Queensland Health website: Tuberculosis

Our offer:

You will receive a competitive remuneration package value up to $128,706 p.a., comprising salary between $76,747 - $112,805 p.a. (f/t) or salary between $38.71 - $56.89 p.h. (p/t), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP3) (Permanent Full Time, 76 hours p.f., or Permanent Part Time Positions, hours negotiable).
