The Mental Health and Wellbeing Locals arean important part of Victoria’s reformed mental health and wellbeing system.In the Yarra Ranges,Wellways, Eastern Health,InspiroHealth, and Oonahare working together to offeraneasy waytoaccesscare and support for people aged 26 years and over who are experiencing mental health concerns - including people with co-occurring alcohol and drugsupportand care needs and their family, carers, and supporters.This new service will make it easier for theparticipantto access the support they need, closer to home and family, carers, and support networks.

About the role

This unique role will work as part of the Yarra Ranges Mental Health and Wellbeing Local Service to provide AoD expertise to the community in an integrated and accessible community setting.

This role will be part of a growing service system that places the community in the centre of the Local Mental Health and Wellbeing network across Victoria.You will ensuring that consumers, carers and their families receive valuable and supportive integrated mental health and AOD care. This role will ensure decisions are always either directly or indirectly aimed at ensuring the person with lived experience is at the centre of all we do and that the ethos and values of clinical professionalism are imbued within the culture of the organisation and play an integral role in changing and shaping the way mental health and wellbeing services and supports are delivered to the Yarra Ranges community.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Registered nurse
  • Diploma or degree level qualification in Alcohol and Drug studies
  • Current registration with AHPRA
  • Experience anddemonstrated skills in alcohol and other drug assessments, withdrawal management, case management, treatment and client referral.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the psychosocial issues affecting people with problematic substance abuse issues
  • The ability to provide effective interventions for consumers with co-occurring substance use and mental health problems.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and teamwork experience
