As the Social Worker - Child and Family Health Senior Clinician, you will bring your team leadership and clinical expertise and knowledge in the area of pregnancy, birth, child development and family structures to a role aimed at providing excellent patient centred care to consumers within the Child and Family Health sphere.

You will demonstrate advanced reasoning skills and will operate autonomously with minimal direct clinical supervision in a role that holds balanced clinical load alongside other relevant duties such as senior leadership, supervision and management to the social workers within the services of Child & Family Health.


About You

  • You possess tertiary qualifications in Social Work, with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) (overseas qualifications must supply the AASW Overseas Assessment number). A demonstrated understanding of the current AASW Practice Standards as they relate to the Senior Social Work - Child & Family position.
  • You have significant demonstrated social work experience in providing therapeutic interventions with families (including individual and family counselling, a high level of assessment, brief intervention and group facilitation skills) and a well-developed understanding of the psychosocial and developmental issues that arise for families during the early years of childhood.
  • You have demonstrated experience in providing team and clinical leadership, management and supervision to staff and students as well as experience as a member of a multidisciplinary team and skills to support clinical leadership within the team.
