About us:

Emerald Nursing Resource Unit (ENRU) has a permanent position for an Enrolled Nurse who will be allocated to different facilities to backfill leave within Central Highlands.

Emerald Hospital is located 300kms west of the Queensland coastline. The population of the surrounding community is approximately 28,000 with 15,000 at Emerald. Emerald Hospital is a 32-bed facility, has two operating theatres and approximately 160 staff delivering services across emergency, acute care, perioperative services, maternity, infusion services, HITH, child heath, mental health, palliative care, community and primary care. There are three smaller multi-purpose health services (MPHS), located at Blackwater and Springsure and Woorabinda along with two Primary Care centres at Gemfields and Capella.

About the role:

A Nurse Grade 3 is an Enrolled Nurse who supports a Registered Nurse/Registered Midwife in the provision of person-centred care as specified by registration requirements, NMBA standards and codes, educational preparation, relevant legislation and context of care.

An Enrolled Nurse will provide direct and indirect evidence-based patient care, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse/Midwife, using contemporary nursing theory and practice within the Nursing Teams of Central Highlands hospitals/facilities (Emerald, Blackwater, Springsure and Woorabinda).

About you:

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Mandatory qualification/s: Current registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
  • Non-mandatory qualifications/requirements: Experience in an Emergency Department and Aged care is desirable but not essential.
  • Demonstrates sound evidence-based clinical skills for an Enrolled Nurse and knowledge in area of practice and setting working within the scope of practice for an Enrolled Nurse.
  • Practices within the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) competency domains and standards for an Enrolled Nurse.
  • Ability to adhere to Queensland Health and NMBA Code of Conduct and Hospital Health Services values and committed to positively represent the CQHHS.
  • Ability to work well in a team and adapt to change.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $86,259 p.a. is comprised of:

  • A hourly rate between $35.92 - $38.12 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
