What you'll be doing

The Clinical Nurse / Midwife Specialist Grade 2 (CNMS2) is a Registered Nurse / Midwife who applies a high level of clinical nursing knowledge, experience and skills in providing complex nursing care directed towards a specific area of practice, a defined population or defined service area, with minimum direct supervision.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (2 doses) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Please provide proof of vaccination if available.

Selection Criteria

  1. Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and demonstrated ability to actively contribute to the development of clinical practice.
  2. Relevant post-registration qualification and at least 3 years’ experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate.
  3. Demonstrated ability to exercise extended autonomy of decision making capabilities and leadership in the development of nursing specialty clinical practice and service delivery.
  4. Commitment to contribute to own and the teams professional development, to act as a resource person and mentor to others within the specialty.
  5. Demonstrated ability to exercise professional knowledge and judgement in providing complex care requirements for clients with eating disorders.
  6. Demonstrated ability or willingness to develop local procedures from NSW health policy directives.
  7. Demonstrated ability to undertake assessment of clinical competencies within the relevant specialty.
  8. Evidence of a Class C driver's licence
