  1. Registration or eligible for registration with Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA). Candidate to provide AHPRA Registration Number on application.
  2. Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) and/or equivalent. Obstetric requirement: Demonstrated ability to undertake a range of emergency and higher risk obstetric procedures, including but not limited to commencement of a subtotal hysterectomy, care of the undiagnosed vaginal breech, care of women planning vaginal birth of twins, and willingness to participate in a higher risk obstetric care roster, more complex caesarean sections, mid-pelvic vaginal delivery with forceps or vacuum, repair or 3rd and 4th degree tears. (consistent with the training and scope of practice of a general obstetrician). Gynaecological requirement: Demonstrated ability to undertake a range of procedures, including, but not limited to laparoscopic gynaecology surgery and able to manage gynaecological conditions consistent with the training and scope of practice of a benign gynaecologists.
  3. Demonstrated commitment to the provision of high quality public service including compliance with the relevant public sector policies and clinical practices. Demonstrated commitment to ensuring public resources and services are primarily for the access of public patients.
  4. Demonstrated commitment and active contribution of safety and quality of programs and activities including understanding and compliance with the National Safety and Quality in Health Service Standards. Active participation in appropriate peer review / morbidity and mortality meetings consistent with best practice guidelines.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to and current experience in formal and informal teaching and supervision of junior medical officers and the broader multidisciplinary team.
  6. Demonstrated professionalism as expected of a Senior Medical Practitioner including role modelling an ethical behaviour, accountability and the CORE values. Demonstrated ability and willingness to comply with organisational mandatory training / education requirements.
  7. Demonstrated ability and willingness to collaborate and partner with women in their health care to ensure informed decision making and a person-centred approach to care provision.
  8. Demonstrated ability and willingness to work flexibly and cooperatively with the hospital to ensure effective public service provision, including participating in the on-call roster and attending handovers when requested. Willingness to ensure public duties are not compromised by individual private commitments.
