Occupational Therapist

Take on an exciting opportunity as Psychologist or Social Worker or Occupational Therapist (Prison Mental Health Service Transition Clinician) with our Forensic Mental Health Team. You will deliver specialist mental health services, management advice, training, education and supervision to people with mental health issues incarcerated at the Lotus Glen Correctional Centre who require support in transitioning back to the community on their release.

 Health Workers who take up employment with Queensland Health from intrastate, interstate or overseas may be eligible for incentive payments under the Queensland Health Workforce Attraction Incentive Scheme. The Lotus Glen Correctional Centre, located 25 kilometres south of Mareeba, accommodates high and low security prisoners and provides a remand and reception. The centre's catchment area for its prisoner population includes Northwest to Mount Isa, east to Cairns and north to the Cape York Region across to the Torres Strait Islands. The centre is client centric and aims to build cultural safety in its programs and services. The centre delivers programs to address criminogenic needs to increase community safety and provides high quality assessment, case management and intervention services to promote mental health and wellbeing.
