Townsville Hospital and Health Service is seeking a Mental Health Clinician to join the team within the Mental Health Service Group on a Permanent full-time basis in the Evolve Therapeutic Services Child, Adolescent and Young Adult Service.

Eligible health workers who make the move (interstate or international) to work with us may receive up to $20,000 in incentive payments under the Queensland Health Workforce Attraction Incentive Scheme (conditions apply).

About your opportunity:

This position will provide the opportunity to provide high level specialist services, in the areas of assessment, intervention, treatment planning and evaluation, training and education, supervision and research, within the Evolve Therapeutic Services Team. 

This team is part of an inter-agency response to the therapeutic and behaviour support needs of children and young people in the care of the Department of Child Safety with severe psychological and behavioural problems.

Generous remuneration package value up to $132,730 (HP3) or $132,289 (Nurse Grade 6) p.a. comprising:

  • Salary range of $76,747 to $116,332 p.a. (HP3)
  • Salary range of $107,960 $115,604 p.a. (Nurse Grade 6)
  • Annual leave with 17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Requirements:

  • Proof of qualification (Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work or Speech Pathology) and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association.
  • Blue Card Checks.
  • Highly Desirable:
    • Credentialed status (or willingness to undertake and complete the requirements) with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses. 
    • Possession of or working towards a relevant post-registration and/or tertiary qualifications in mental health nursing.
    • While not mandatory, eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) under the Mental Health Act 2016.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
  • Possession of class C drivers' licence.
  • All employees of the Mental Health Service Group may be required to work in other areas of the service.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
