About your opportunity:

Permanent full-time opportunity available as a Forensic Liaison Officer, within the Forensic Mental Health Service, located in Townsville. 

This is a multi-disciplinary positions - applications are being sought from Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists or Social Workers.

The Forensic Liaison Officer (FLO) position is a member of the Townsville Community Forensic Mental Health Services (CFMHS) with service provision to the Adult Mental Health Service and the Child and Adolescent, Young Adult Service (CAYAS) and works in collaboration with the State-wide Program Coordinator – Forensic Liaison Officer Network and Community Forensic Outreach Services.

This position aims to develop the capacity of the Mental Health Service (MHS) to confidently work with forensic or higher risk consumers, using strategies such as co-case management, coordinating and facilitating professional development opportunities, facilitating access to the specialist forensic service and supporting and mentoring case managers who are caring for forensic and high risk adolescent and adult complex consumers.

Generous remuneration package value up to $164,696 p.a. (NG7) or $152,775 p.a. (HP4) comprising:

  • Salary range of $5081.10 to $5516.60 p.f. (NG7) or $4769.60 to $5132.40 p.f. (HP4)
  • Annual leave with relevant leave loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Requirements:

  • Proof of qualification (Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Social Work) and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
  • Possession of class C drivers' licence.
  • Travel: Please note, from time-to-time this position will be required to travel to, and work at, other facilities located within the Townsville and North West Hospital and Health Services to participate in meetings for planning, quality, performance, training and education, or clinical activities.  This may involve day and/or overnight stays.  Travel on small planes or ferry may be required. The successful applicant/s will need to be able to commit to this requirement.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • All employees of the Mental Health Service Group may be required to work in other areas of the service.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
