Applications are invited from suitably qualified consultants to lead the provision of best practice, evidence based surgical service to plastics and reconstructive patients of John Hunter Hospital, Belmont District Hospital and Calvary Mater Newcastle Hospital. The successful applicant will work closely with specialties such as Trauma, Orthopaedic Surgery and Otolaryngology services with whom the clinical workload overlaps.

Our ideal applicant will:

  • Be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Plastic Surgeon, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways
  • Have experience in DIEP free flap breast reconstruction
  • Participate in the relevant teaching, training and research programs of the units
  • Have a commitment to support the developing Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery unit and on-call service
