Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

As the Chief Medical Resident:

· You will provide leadership, pastoral care and rostering oversight to the team of 19 O&G Registrars and 15 house officers.

· You will be part of the clinical governance structure and advise the Medical Director and Service Clinical Directors, Chief Training Supervisor

· You will liase with the Northern Regional Alliance recruitment and operational support teams.

The role has a key influence in the experience of RMOs in Women’s Health by providing operational leadership and guidance to rostering, leave, and RMO workforce issues.

You will gain a wealth of experience in leading and supporting medical colleagues, influencing the work environment and clinical governance, while also completing advanced training requirements.

This is a fixed term position starting February 2025 to Feb 2026.

The successful candidate must be:

· Close to completing New Zealand O&G vocational training (i.e. must have completed RANZCOG core training) and

· Have an interest in service development, teaching and clinical leadership
