Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 1 (CNC1) means:a registered nurse appointed as such to a position approved by the Health Service, who has at least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, and in addition who has approved post registration nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to the field in which he/she is appointed, or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the Health Service.
The CNC EB (Epidermolysis Bullosa) willbe the clinical leader in the management of EB patients. The CNC is to ensure effective transitioning and managementof EB patients and their families to the St George Hospital and broader clinical environment. The responsibilitiesinclude assessments, coordination and treatment within the community and the hospital, liaising with families andthe multidisciplinary team regarding care, decision making and management. Responsibilities within the healthcareenvironment will include consultancy, advice, research and education. The CNC is an expert practitioner who, throughleadership facilitates research based clinical practice models that are creative, visionary and relevant. In addition therole will provide regular updates to the Australasian EB registry as required and aid in the strategic planning and futuredevelopment of the EB service. The CNC will ensure that the service fosters excellence in clinical, educational, researchand professional leadership.

All workers and new recruits are required to receive 2 doses of a Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine to commence employment/ engagement or continue to work within a NSW Health service.
A worker and new recruit will be considered compliant if they have a medical contraindication to all available Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccines and provide medical contraindication evidence in line with the policy requirements.
In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant.
Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza or COVID-19 vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position.
