The Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for the coordination and facilitation of unit based clinical education and training reflecting evidence based practice. The Clinical Nurse Educator promotes and supports excellence in clinical practice to optimise clinical and client outcomes, through policy, core knowledge, skill, and research translation into clinical practice. The Clinical Nurse Educator will have a primary role in the provision of unit orientation, mandatory training, continuing education, clinical teaching and facilitation, and skill accreditation. The Clinical Nurse Educator works closely with the unit Nurse Educator to ensure a coordinated approach to continuing education across the unit. The key success factors for this role will reflect the purpose of the CNE.

The Royal Society for the Welfare of Mothers and Babies, trading asTresillian, was formed in 1918 to coordinate early child and maternal health care services in New South Wales (NSW). SELECTION CRITERIA:

1) Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

2) Postgraduate/ post registration qualifications in Child and Family Health Nursing with a minimum of 3 years full-time experience working in the specialty.

3) Demonstrated skills in clinical teaching and facilitation including the demonstrated knowledge and use of adult learning principles.

4) Demonstrated commitment to own professional development and of others.

5) Minimum Certificate IV Training and Assessment or willingness to complete within 12-18 months of position commencement.

6) Demonstrated understanding and commitment to evidence based practice and ability to apply this to education practice.

7) Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and independently.

8) Able to demonstrate competency in Microsoft Office suite and computer technology relevant to the role.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 Immunisation Medical Exemption Form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. Please provide proof of booster vaccination if available.
