The GERI team, based in the Emergency Department, focuses on efficiently fast-tracking elderly patients through assessments and referrals to community services, while also aiding in the early discharge of RACF residents.

About us:

The CQHHS GERI/RaSS is an Emergency Department substitution model and is designed to support hospital avoidance and the frail older person through their hospital journey. The RaSS component of the service is a team of Nurse Practitioners (NP's) and Clinical Nurses working under the governance of the GERI/RaSS Senior Medical Officer (SMO).

About the role:

The Clinical Nurse (CN) performs an early leadership role inside the career pathway for nursing within CQHHS and can function in more complex situations while providing support and direction to nursing personnel integrating theory, practice and experience while providing support and direction to nursing staff and enhancing the quality of geriatric nursing care. The CN follows defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe, evidence-based practice within services and workplaces.

About you:

Mandatory qualification/s: Current registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

  • A relevant postgraduate certificate or post graduate diploma is an expectation of this position. Where the successful applicant does not currently hold this qualification, commitment to completion within an agreed timeframe is expected and will form part of the performance and development plan.

Total remuneration value of up to $69,420 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $54.44 - $58.30 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
