About the
OPPORTUNITY
This role provides continuity
of midwifery care within a caseload midwifery led model
throughout the continuum
of pregnancy labour, birth and the postnatal period. The Clinical
Midwife works within the Midwifery Group Practice setting and
provides support for the woman either at home or in the hospital.
The emphasis of this position is on the provision of safe,
effective care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
Within the Midwifery Group Practice setting, the woman and her
family is central to the care, which is provided in a culturally
appropriate manner.
To be successful in
this role, you will have…
- Extensive experience and
commitment working in midwifery led, women-centred models of
care, with advanced skills across the continuum of
care.
- Knowledge of and
demonstrated practice within the boundary of, the current
Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia professional guidance
for Midwives and the Australian College of Midwives National
Midwifery Guidelines for Consultation and Referral.
- Demonstrated ability and
experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
people including demonstrated knowledge and understanding of
the WA Health Aboriginal Cultural Respect Implementation
Framework.
- Effective communication
and interpersonal skills.
- An ability to work
independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
- Proven commitment to
quality improvement activities, customer service and clinical
governance within the health care sector.
- Current knowledge of
legislative obligations for Equal Opportunity, Disability
Services and Work Health and Safety, and how these impact on
employment and service delivery.

The Country Nursing &
Midwifery incentive program is available to new and existing nurses
and midwives - across a broad range of patient-facing roles - on
fixed term or permanent contracts at eligible locations. Eligible
nurses and midwives can receive between $5,000 and $17,000 in
