A Southern TAS hospital requires a Registrar/PHO in Paediatrics from 01/07/2025 to 27/07/2025.
Classification Registrar - PGY5
Will consider (PGY3 or PGY4) Junior Registrar if the candidate has required Paediatric experience
Successful completion of APLS course preferable but not compulsory.
For consideration of a PGY3 they must have paediatric experience. Neonatal resuscitation experience preferred
Paediatrics
Description This is a paediatric registrar position covering staff resignation. The hospital has a dedicated paediatric and adolescent wards, as well as a NPICU and special care within a large mixed teaching hospital. The paediatric registrar is part of a medical team including RMOs, senior registrars and consultants.
The locum positions involve covering paediatric ward and occasional paediatric clinic, calls form emergency department and may involve supporting the NPICU overnight.
Registrar level of experience :
Will consider (PGY3 or PGY4) Junior Registrar if the candidate has required Paediatric experience – must be able to work night shifts independently, though excellent consultant support is available, and support is also available from the NPICU registrar/ED team/anaesthetics, etc.
Successful completion of APLS course preferable but not compulsory.

Dates required
1 to 9 July : day shift followed by a block of Nights
23 to 27 July Night shifts
On Call On-call during some of day shifts
Support/Supervision
Senior Registrar on all day shifts. There is a consultant present on ward rounds and available 24/7 for support
Locum Medical officer Daily Rate
$1500 day shifts
$1800 Night shifts
Flights and Accommodation
Arranged by Locum Provider with approval for costs to be obtained from hospital prior to confirmation of bookings. Please note: Vehicle not provided
AHPRA Registration
Evidence of current registration must be provided prior to commencement
Criminal History Check
Evidence of a satisfactory National Criminal History Check must be provided prior to commencement
Working With Children Registration
Evidence of a satisfactory National Criminal History Check must be provided prior to commencement
Interstate registration able to be used as booking under 28 days
Indemnity
Evidence of current Medical Indemnity (for public and private patients) must be provided prior to commencement (cannot be employer indemnity)
